Vermont Gold Rush Historian and Antique Expert Passes Away – Alston L. Springer, 1949 – 2018
from the Vermont Journal .com – LUDLOW, Vt. – Alston L. Springer, 69, passed away July 26, 2018 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. after a brief illness. He was born April 20, 1949 in Stamford, Conn., the son of Nelson F. Sr. and Florence (Layman) Springer. He attended schools in Stamford and graduated from Stamford Catholic High School and later graduated from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn.
He was married to Regina C. Tarinelli July 15, 1972 in Bridgeport, Conn. He owned and operated Al’s Landscaping in Stamford, Conn. for 40 years. After retiring from landscaping, he moved to Vermont where he owned and operated Al’s Antiques, which he loved doing for the past 16 years. He also sold Christmas trees in Ludlow for 16 years.
Al was known for his dry wit and fantastic laugh.
He is survived by his wife Reggie of Ludlow, one nephew Michael Springer, and two nieces Lynn Ann Huber and Laura Degling.
He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Nelson F. Springer Jr.
